About Us

"Rockin' for a Reason"

The Southern Rock Volunteer Jam's sole purpose is to help raise awareness and prevention of child abuse and to teach our children and ourselves to be aware of and protect our children from sexual predators, molestors and kidnappers. Through our efforts to coordinate musical events we raise money and donate it to Protect Children, Inc., so that they can produce radio & TV commericals, literature, seminars, etc. to teach us and our children how to protect and prevent abuse.

Why We Do What We Do.....

Most of you know me and you know why we started the Southern Rock Volunteer Jam. But for those of you who may not know our story, our youngest son, Stephen, was sexually abused 7 years ago and his abuser was never brought to justice by the State of Florida. That's right, yet another sexual offender living among us right here in Hillsborough County. By the grace of God, a wonderful therapist, loving family, and friends, we are SURVIVORS. The news shows us everyday how lucky we are to still have our children because it could be worse. Although what happened to our son will forever haunt us, helping to prevent it from happening to other children and even saving the lives of endangered children is the only medicine that heals us.

We are certainly not looking for sympathy we are looking for other people that are concerned about children being safe. We have to educate them and ourselves. We have to be aware of our surroundings at all times. You have to believe that when you think you are being over-protective, you are not protecting enough. Trust no one when it comes to your own children. Teach them to always talk to you and have no fear of telling you everything at all times. Teach them to NEVER go near strangers and to ALWAYS stay with a group. Teach them that NO ONE on this Earth is to ever touch them inappropriately. This is our job, not the government's. If you haven't noticed, THE GOVERNMENT IS NOT GOING TO HELP YOU OR PROTECT YOU OR YOUR CHILDREN AND ONLY A FRACTION OF THESE MONSTERS WILL EVER SEE A COURT ROOM, LET ALONE A JAIL CELL. We have to mobilize and form our own armies in our own homes to fight this war. Florida is a sexual offender, predator, & pedophile haven. Check the Florida sexual offender website - YOU ARE SURROUNDED BY THEM! We have to raise awareness and take this evil into our own hands! THEY NEED TO KNOW THAT THEY ARE SURROUNDED BY US!!
